XTR M9020 Trail Brake

This is is an ergonomic, powerful and compact disc brake that's specifically designed for intense braking on the trails. Its Servo-Wave XTR lever has been optimised for full adjustability on-the-fly. Furthermore, it is a lightweight, powerful and easily adaptable post-style hydraulic disc brake caliper for outstanding stopping power.

Lever Features:
Short stroke Servo-Wave mechanism with SIL-TEC coated roller for a quick, smooth pad engagement and more power for aggressive riding
Excellent clearance at the caliper has enabled Shimano to use a short stroke Servo-Wave mechanism. As the brake lever is pulled a cam linkage enables rapid pad to rotor engagement, at the point of contact the cam moves across multiplying the leverage ratio and increasing the stopping power

XTR RT99 Ice Tech Rotor

This superb rotor provides consistent braking performance through effective energy management. By using a revolutionary 3-layer sandwich construction of stainless steel and alloy construction that manages heat while riding. Furthermore, its clad steel/alloy/steel rotor construction allows heat generated from braking to radiate quickly through its aluminium core achieving surface temperature drops of around 50°C. Finally, when used with Ice-Tech pads surface temperatures can drop from around 400 to 300°C, this Shimano disc rotor provides great improvements in braking performance.

Rotor Features:

FREEZA rotors allow the alloy core to extend out from the braking surface as a fin to providing added cooling
Ice-Tech rotors achieve long pad life, less noise and less fade due to improved heat dispersion
Rotors are durable lightweight and rigid, using the proven Shimano centre lock system giving increased strength and security with an easy set-up
Precision cut and drilled braking surface improves pad clearing in muddy conditions while aiding cooling under high load
